Hidden Port is a community project, and the utter awesomeness of what it becomes depends on YOU! We’d love you to get involved – the first step is coming to one of our workshops for the Hidden Port Competition!
Throughout February, Curious Legends and Newcastle Region Library will be presenting 4 workshops for the local community. Each workshop will be open to a different age group, and help get ideas flowing for our competition. The workshops will be presented by Curious Legends Artistic Director Mitchell Reese and local Author/Writer/Actress extraordinaire Karen Eastwood. During each workshop, participants will learn what materials make a good story, where to find (or take!) awesome photographs, how to enter the competition, and how else they can get involved in the project. Students from Mayfield East, Tighes Hill, Carrington, Islington, and Hamilton Public Schools will also have the opportunity of taking part through additional workshops held at their schools.
Like to get involved?
Each workshop will cover:
- Where to look for stories
- Where to find great photographs
- Writing techniques, both for your stories, and for writing down what you hear
- How to take photos on any device (mobile phones can be great for this!)
- How to create an entry, and submit it to the competition!
*BYO digital camera device & something for writing in.
Cost is $5 each. For bookings, please go here: www.eventbrite.com.au
